Hurricane Dorian Recovery
Your Donation Makes a Difference
It’s now been well over 100 days since the passage of Hurricane Dorian that ravaged our shores, homes, and ecosystems on Grand Bahama and Abaco!
The work that we do now is of utmost importance and as we continue to rebuild. It’s not too late for you to donate to help our efforts.
Join Waterkeepers Bahamas by donating on THIS $5 Friday.
Here is where YOUR $5 will go:
1. Continued testing on residential groundwater wells and other water sources;
2. Logistic costs related to transportation and fuel for volunteers;
3. Maintenance supplies for monitoring equipment;
4. Additional resources to expand the reach to a wider community of ground water well users; and
5. Training gear for sanitary purposes.

since the passage of Hurricane Dorian
Equinor spilled 5 million gallons of oil over Grand Bahama’s delicate pine forest and wetland ecosystems, causing untold damage which will take years of remediation to overcome. It could have been much worse.
We must learn our lesson from the catastrophe, pass far reaching environmental protection and disaster prevention laws and rethink our relationship with fossil fuel facilities on the whole, before its too late.
